About three times a day, I dream about a “Single Serving Store.” A place where I can go to buy just what I need to satisfy a one-time craving. No leftovers.
Sometimes I don’t want to bake a whole chocolate cake just for a slice. I don’t need an entire carton of ice cream just for a scoop. And, I certainly don’t know what to do with 10 slices of bread after I make a sandwich.
I find it very hard to eat all of these things before they go bad.
Why can’t a girl make a PB&J sandwich without having to eat sandwiches every day for the rest of the week? These thoughts often talk me out of “peanut butter jelly time.” But darn it, I want it.
To get my fix without all the leftover drama, I went rouge. That’s right. Peanut Butter and Jelly without the bread. I guess you can call this a PB&J Sans-wich. Ha! Problem solved.
Well, one problem anyway. This just became a sticky situation. Without the bread as a buffer, I’m bound to have a mess on my hands. What a jam I’m in! 😉 What to do?
Opt for a snack instead of a sandwich. Swap the traditional stuff for powdered peanut butter and drop the jelly from the strawberry jelly. This traditionally heavy fare just lost a little weight and a lot of calories. Yep, you can still have all of the flavor with none of the guilt. Why didn’t I think of this sooner?
Tips for A Healthy Snack
- Remove the stems from the strawberries and slice them up.
- Dip each strawberry slice face down into the powder so the juice from the strawberry will pick up the peanut butter.
